The Lobelville Friends of the Library and the Lobelville Public library sponsored the mobile petting zoo, Party Animals, as part of the Summer Reading Program. Party Animals, out of Morrison, Tennessee, brought a camel, a water buffalo, a micro mini pig, several goats (including some pygmy goats), kudamundi, lambs, and a baby kangaroo (a joey). They also brought a couple different types of cattle, a charolais and a Scottish highland. Ice cream and beverages were provided to the two legged guests and cups of corn were provided to the four legged ones.
The Lobelville Library’s Summer Reading Program has been supported by the Lobelville Friends of the Library, Save the Children via Perry County’s Community Collaborative, Thrivent Financial Group, and many, many donations from individuals throughout Perry County and a few beyond.
