The Linden Library Book and Bake Sale, held on May 6th at the Azbill Community Center, raised over $1000 thanks to the efforts of community volunteers. This represents a new fundraising record at this twice-yearly event.
Friends of the Library President, Christine Buckingham, spearheaded this event to raise funds for the library in Linden. "We are very grateful to our community for their tremendous help and support," she stated, "People came from near and far to take advantage of the delicious baked goods and bargains available at the sale."
Many members of the Perry County community graciously contributed baked goods, used books, used DVDs, and their hard work in getting things organized for the sale. Plus, the community attended the fundraiser ready to purchase, knowing they were getting a bargain and their money was going to a good cause. Thanks to all for coming together for this event. The next Book and Bake Sale will be held in the Fall.
