Capt. Barry, the Recycling PirateHosted by the Linden Library, Captain Barry, the Recycling Pirate entertained and educated the kindergarten students from Linden Elementary School on April 11 at the Linden Library. Captain Barry and Sammy the Litter Turtle told the children about what happens with trash at the landfill and what happens with recycled items. The children, their teachers and library patrons were educated and entertained by this dynamic duo.

Libraries Rock! 2018 Summer Reading ProgramWe need your help to support our Summer Reading Program.

Our theme is Libraries Rock!   Our programs are centered around books about music, including musical instruments, musical performances, and history of music.   We also plan to include books and information about the mineralogical version of Rocks.   To do all of this, we need donations and people.

In the past, you could depend on your local library having the tax forms you needed.  Just pop into the library and grab your tax forms.  Not this year!  The IRS has informed the libraries in Perry County to expect a limited supply of printed tax forms by the end of February due to the recent tax code changes.

Linden Elementary Kindergartners went on a field trip to the library in Linden, where Librarian Nan Garrett read Thanksgiving books and told stories. If this photo had a sound track, you would hear the children shouting, "Happy Thanksgiving" as they waved to the camera. If you want to schedule a field trip for your class to the library, just call Nan at 589-5011 to make arrangements.

WASHINGTON –The Internal Revenue Service today advised taxpayers about steps they can take now to ensure smooth processing of their 2017 tax return and avoid a delay in getting their refund next year. This is the first in a series of reminders to help taxpayers get ready for the upcoming tax filing season. Additionally, the IRS has a special page on its website with steps to take now for the 2018 tax filing season.
