Tails and Tales: Crafts with Ms. Pinky

Wednesday, July 07, 2021 10:30 am
This event does not repeat

June 30 we had Barry Mitchell perform for us, with about 40 children in attendance.  It was a great event, enjoyed by the parents as well as the children.  He told jokes, performed with his costar Sam the Turtle, and left every child with a smile.

July 7th at 10:30 will be another fun day at the Lobelville Library with Ms. Pinky teaching crafts using the lids from a mason jar to make name tags which can also be used as a fridge magnet.  Ultimately it is all about Tales and Tails.  But if you haven't been at the Lobelville Library lately and met Ms. Pinky, you are in for a real treat.

Next event at the Lobelville Library's Summer Reading Program is the Party Animal Petting Zoo, bound to be another especially exciting and fun day.  Thanks to the Summer Reading Program Tails and Tales, the petting zoo will include some pretty amazing animals, never before seen in Perry County, and is the third in a series of events for the Summer Reading Program of 2021.  All events are on a Wednesday throughout July, with a final day for the Awards Party on July 30th.  Here is the schedule:

  • Wed., July 14 at 10:30 a.m. - PARTY ANIMAL PETTING ZOO
  • Wed., July 21 at 10:30 a.m. - Mousetail Landing Animal Rescue, featuring Rapture Rescue
  • Friday July 30 at 10:30 a.m. - Awards Party!  More on this as we go through the month.

We have been blessed to have some wonderful supporters from the community who are making all of this happen.  The Lobelville Friends of the Library have been hard at work, and the Perry County Community Collaborative, through the generosity of Save the Children, are making sure children are encouraged to appreciate what the library offers... tons of fun learning to read.  By the way, when you're at one of the events in this series, the Perry County Community Collaborative will have a table filled with books, puzzles, a treasure box packed with free goodies, and even a cookbook for Mom!
