Don't we all hate those robocalls? And everyone of us knows at least one person who has been affected by one scam or another. The scammers have advanced in this age of technology, and it's time we advanced as well to prevent the scammers from winning.
Scammers use the internet or telephone to trick millions of people every year into sending money or giving out personal information.
Scammers can be polite and charming. They may say they work for a company that you recognize. They may know your name or certain things about you and make you feel special. They promise things like lottery winnings, prizes, friendship, or romance. But they don’t keep these promises.
Learn how to protect yourself from scammers by attending a free Scam Prevention Program at the library in Linden on Thursday, June 20 at 2:00 PM. Anna Smith from the TN Department of Commerce and Insurance will share details about current popular scams, where and how to report scams and scam-fighting resources in this 1-hour program.
Call the library at 931-589-5011 to register for the program. Don't be a victim, this is a great opportunity to arm yourselves against scammers.
